threadboards, 2025
Wool, conductive thread, recycled foam and cotton stuffing
This series of fully functional handknitted breadboards is an exploration of the soft side of electronics. Embroidered with conductive thread in patterns that closely resemble the traces and buses of their plastic counterparts, they’re capable of safely powering circuits of up to 9 volts (and possibly beyond?)
The pattern was published in volume 95 of MAKE Magazine; I also have a more in-depth write-up of the project here.
